Sarah Veale is Head of Equality and Employment Rights and the TUC. Her specialist knowledge includes, equal pay and gender job segregation; discrimination against pregnant women and mothers, flexible working and issues outside work that impact on women’s ability to succeed in the workplace.
A regular representative for the TUC at national and regional events, Sarah frequently has to take strategic decisions on progress and has participated and spoken at numerous conferences. As secretary to the four TUC equality Committees, she has an understanding of the subtleties and impacts of the work of each Committee on the other and provides a stable leadership between these and at conferences.
Sarah recognises the importance of treating her colleagues with respect and of working as a team, building good relationships with colleagues both in and out of office. She looks forward to bringing her experience and enthusiasm to the work of the WNC.
