Throughout her thirty years experience Helen Jackson has development strategic policy in several areas including women and pensions, establishing a regional women’s network, women in the local economy, and women and the Northern Ireland peace process.
Helen was Member of Parliament for Sheffield, Hillsborough from 1992 to April 2005 and was a member of the Labour Party National Executive. Throughout her life, Helen has been a strong campaigner for support to boost the number of women active in public life.
Helen is currently teaching groups the skills of speaking in public and Helen is able to give confidence to others by passing on her skills that she has developed over many years. Helen has spoken at local, national and international levels. Helen has recently organised and chaired a number of self-funded regional conferences. She has also supported and helped OXFAM in her local area. Helen believes that successful networking is essential in making women realise their potential in public life.
