We have been looking at how we can help you further use the gender duty to get better public services. The gender duty places a legal obligation on public authorities to eliminate unlawful gender discrimination and harassment and promote equality of opportunity between women and men.
This toolkit is made up of a series of template letters and information to guide you through this process to remind the public body of its obligations and helps you to find out who is subject to the gender duty. It also helps you to find a way through the common misunderstanding that the gender duty means gender-neutral services - which the gender duty does not.
